PS STATE DEPARTMENT FOR MEDICAL SERVICES COMMISSIONS MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

The Principal Secretary of the State Department for Medical Services, Mr. Harry K. Kimtai, today commissioned medical equipment donated by AMREF Health Africa at the GSU Headquarters in Ruaraka. The equipment, which was received by DIG-KPS Mr. Eliud K. Lagat, will be used at the Magadi Field Training Campus dispensary. It is expected to significantly enhance the provision of medical treatment to officers and the general public. During the event, PS Kimtai also distributed sanitary towels donated by the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action to the GSU Secondary School. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to partnering with both government and non-governmental institutions to support the school. Additionally, he urged students to focus on their education, uphold discipline, and maintain integrity, as these qualities will help them become impactful leaders in the future.

The PS also took the opportunity to educate both officers and students on the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) fund. The DIG, in his remarks, expressed sincere gratitude to the PS for gracing the occasion and lauded the remarkable initiative noting how it shall keenly be of help to the two benefiting institutions and the extended community. He also commended the GSU leadership and the heads of the GSU Primary and Secondary School for their efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the schools. The event was attended by Ms. Rachel Kamwero, a representative from the State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, Commandant GSU Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni, SAIG, and representatives from AMREF, among other dignitaries.
