PS OMOLLO, IG KANJA ASSESS LEVEL OF PREPAREDNESS FOR CHAN TOURNAMENT

Today, 1st August 2025, the Principal Secretary for the State Department of Interior and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo, accompanied by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, led members of the National Security Council team in inspecting Nyayo National Stadium and Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium, to assess the level of preparedness of the two venues to host the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). The team visited various sections of the stadiums, including the operational areas, changing rooms, entry and exit points, and the stadium perimeter.

They expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness in terms of security, protocol, and logistical arrangements for the tournament participants. Present during the inspection were the CECAFA Secretary-General and Chairperson of CHAN Local Organising Committee(LOC), Nicholas Musonye; CEO LOC, Myke Rabar; KPS Director of Operations, Mr. Adamson Bungei, SAIG; APS Director of Operations, Mr. Jackson Kangani, SAIG; Nairobi Regional Police Commander, Mr. George Seda, AIG; NPS Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG; among other dignitaries.
