NIGHT VISIT AT NANYUKI POLICE STATION BY DIG LAGAT

"I am keen on service delivery to the members of public, your accountability and responsibility for your actions", that was the key message of the Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Mr Eliud Lagat to Officers when he made an impromptu visit at Nanyuki Police Station yesterday August 29, 2024 after 9:30pm. The DIG was received by the OCS Laikipia, Chief Inspector Abel Mwarania and joined by Sub-County Police Commander Laikipia East, Mr. John Tarus, SSP. He inspected different sections including Report Office, cells, Traffic Section, and Policare Centre. DIG Lagat who takes particular interest in the safety of children in police custody, was particularly impressed by the cleanliness and good maintenance of the Policare Centre, a specialized one-stop centre for handling sexual and gender based violence cases. The Nanyuki Policare was built with support from the British Army in Kenya (BATUK) and Reinvent. 
He was later briefed on the security situation within the area by the county by Laikipia East County Police Commander, Mr. Stephen Wambua, CP, CCIO Judith Kimara and Deputy Base Commander Inspector Phibby Itiria. DIG Lagat is accompanied by KPS Director Logistics, Mr. Peter  Ndung’u, SAIG,  NPS Spokesperson, Dr. Resila Onyango AIG and Deputy Director Operations KPS, Mr. David Mburukwa.
