MULTI-STAKEHOLDER ROUNDTABLE ON ROAD SAFETY HELD AT JOGOO HOUSE
In his endeavor to enhance road safety, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, on Thursday, 3rd July 2025, convened a multi-stakeholder roundtable meeting at Jogoo House ‘A’ in Nairobi. The meeting, chaired by the Principal Assistant to the IG, Mr. Mathew Kutoh, SAIG, brought together key players in the road safety sector, including the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), the Motorists Association of Kenya, and the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), among others, to deliberate on urgent interventions. Participants assessed systemic gaps in the current road safety management framework, discussed the need for a coordinated approach to stakeholder collaboration, and proposed actionable strategies to reduce road fatalities and restore public trust in traffic institutions. Also in attendance were the Director of Operations, Kenya Police Service, Mr. Adamson Bungei, SAIG; Director of Reforms, Mr. John Kamau, AIG; Commandant of the Traffic Police Unit, Mr. Fredrick Ochieng', AIG; and the Staff Officer for Operations (Traffic), Mr. John Nyoike, CP, among others. The National Police Service reaffirms its steadfast commitment to maintaining law and order on Kenyan roads.
