IG KANJA VISITS INTERNAL AFFAIRS UNIT HEADQUARTERS

Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja on October 25, 2024 companied by DIG Kenya Police Service, Mr Eliud Lagat and DIG Administration Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli visited  IAU offices Headquarters at KCB Towers, Upper Hill, Nairobi. In his address to the officers, IG Kanja appreciated the invaluable role that IAU dispenses in internal oversight of NPS Officers, and  assured them of  his support in personnel and training to ensure effective service delivery.  IG Kanja urged the Officers to maintain professionalism and discipline. DIG Lagat commended the IAU Officers for their outstanding work, noting that the IGs visit was a morale booster for the officers, sentiments that were echoed by DIG Masengeli who underscored that IAU is a critical unit within NPS through its role in enhancing accountability in through investigation. Internal Affairs Unit is an independent NPS Unit, established under Section 87 of NPS Act, to receive and investigate complaints against police; promotes uniform standards of discipline and good order in the service and keeps records of the facts of complaints or investigations made.
