IG KANJA MEETS WITH THE UN CHIEF OF SECURITY AND SAFETY SERVICE TEAM IN NAIROBI
The UN Principal Security Adviser a.i. for Kenya and Eritrea, Mr. Prince A. Bruce has, this morning, paid courtesy call on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja Kirocho at the NPS Headquarters, Jogoo House "A". Their discussion focused on the security of UN premises and personnel. In his remarks, Mr. Bruce expressed his gratitude to NPS for supporting the UN in Kenya through the Diplomatic Police Unit, a specialized unit under the Kenya Police Service. On his part, IG Kanja expressed his gratitude to the UN for the support that it has extended to NPS over the years, including the recent renewal of the term of Kenyan-led MSS Mission in Haiti by the UN Security Council to October 2025 under UNSC Resolution 2751 (2024).
NPS has a longstanding record as a peacekeeping and troop contributing country in UN Peacekeeping Missions in several countries including South Sudan, Somalia, Namibia, East Timor, Yugoslavia,Iraq-Iran, Kosova, Sierra Leone, Croatia Cambodia, Liberia, Sudan and many more. The IG concluded by reiterating the commitment of NPS to collaboration with the UN on security matters.
