IG KANJA ATTENDS GLOBAL PUBLIC SECURITY COOPERATION FORUM IN ADDIS ABABA

The Inspector General (IG) of the National Police Service (NPS), Mr.Douglas Kanja, today participated in the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum (GPSCFL), held at the Ethiopian Federal Police Headquarters in Addis Ababa. The forum brought together Inspectors General from Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organization (EAPCCO) member states, including Kenya, Rwanda, Djibouti, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and the host nation, Ethiopia. Hosted by Ethiopia’s Commissioner General of Police, Mr. Demelash Gebremichael, the meeting focused on strengthening regional cooperation to address pressing security challenges facing the African continent. Participants resolved to adopt more collaborative approaches to tackling transnational crimes such as terrorism, cybercrime, and urban security management. They also underscored the importance of leveraging advanced technologies to enhance security operations. During the event, delegates toured Ethiopia's Command and Control Centre, where they were shown the country’s cutting-edge security technologies and mapping systems. Also in attendance were Kenya’s Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, and the NPS Director of Corporate Communications/ Spokesperson, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG, among other senior officials.
