EMPOWERING WOMEN: SECURING PEACE
The National Police Service participated in the 2025 Regional Training on Women in Ammunition Management at the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
This impactful training brought together female professionals from the Regional Centre on Small Arms (RECSA) Member States—Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Seychelles, and Tanzania, representing the police, military, and wildlife agencies.
Facilitated by expert instructors from Kenya, Uganda, Macedonia, and Austria, the course emphasized the importance of a gender perspective in arms control and peacebuilding efforts.
In her address during the closing ceremony, which took place on 4 April 2025, the Director of Administration and Finance at RECSA, Madam Eunice A.J. Dobby, CP, who was representing the Executive Secretary, emphasised that sustainable peace is not possible without the full participation of women.
She celebrated the achievements of 17 trailblazing women who had successfully completed the transformative course.
Furthermore, Madam Dobby hailed the training as a launchpad for expertise, equity, and stronger security networks, and applauded the Government of Austria, IPSTC, and RECSA member states for their invaluable support.
