DIG MASENGELI, DCI AMIN CONDUCT SECURITY ASSESSMENT IN LAFFEY, FOLLOWING AN ATTACK, SECURITY BEEFED-UP

Deputy Inspector General Administration Police Service Mr. Gilbert Masengeli and DCI Mr. Mohamed I. Amin today, December 09, 2024, conducted a security assessment in Wajir and Mandera Counties. They inspected today's scene in Laffey Sub-County in Mandera, where an NPS Officer was fatally shot and a civilian seriously wounded by suspected militants who also took away with the official police vehicle the Officer was using. Also accompanying DIG Masengeli is Commandant GSU-Mr. Ransom Loolmodoni, SAIG, Director of Operations DCI'Mr. Richard Mwaura, AIG, Commander Special Operations Group- Mr. Emitundo Pharise and other security officers. Following the attack, security has been beefed up in the area with the deployment of additional reinforcement teams from the Formed Police Units to maintain safety and security, even as DCI commences investigations into the matter.
