DIG LAGAT VISITS NAKURU CENTRAL POLICE STATION
As part of his meet the officers' tour, the Deputy IG Kenya Police, Mr. Eliud Lagat on August 14, 2024 made an unexpected visit to Nakuru Central Police Station where he had an in-depth conversation with officers at the station, getting a firsthand account of the security situation in the County and assessing the welfare of the Officers.
His visit is a deliberate effort to understand their current working conditions and challenges faced and to get feedback by engaging directly with Officers at their duty stations as well as members of public seeking police services. Today's visit comes after he paid similar tours at Mwiki Police Station and Force Central Stores in Industrial in Nairobi.
While addressing the officers that were present, the DIG appreciated their unwavering dedication to duty, urging them to continue to always uphold integrity, sense of responsibility and accountability in service to the public.
DIG Lagat also took a tour of the station, visiting various sections including the Report Office, Child Protection and Gender Unit, and Cells where he had a chat with persons apprehended for various offences during their afternoon meal. He also passed by the Rift Valley Regional Police Headquarters headed by Mr. Jasper Ombati, AIG. Accompanying the DIG were KPS Director Logistics, Mr. Peter Ndung’u, SAIG, NPS Director of Corporate Communication/ NPS Spokesperson, Dr. Resila Onyango AIG and KPS Deputy Director Operations, Mr. Bernard Mbatha, CP.
