AG. INSPECTOR GENERAL MASENGELI CONCLUDES NORTH EASTERN SECURITY TOUR
Ag. Inspector General of Police, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, yesterday, September 11 2024 completed his three days security tour in the North Eastern Counties. The visit was aimed at assessing the security situation of the region. Their discussions focused on finding lasting solutions to the war against terrorism, human trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling of contraband goods, Inter-clan conflicts within the region.
During the tour, the Police Chief had engagements with security officers, the regional security and intelligence committee, National Government Administration Officers (NGAO), elected leaders and community elders.
He was accompanied by the DCI, Mr. Amin Mohamed, Commandant GSU, Mr. Ranson Lolmoodoni (SAIG), Commandant BPU. James Kamau (SAIG), and Director ATPU Mr. Said Kiprotich and other security personnel. Mr. Masengeli visited several operational police camps namely Mandera Police Station, Border Point 1, Guba, Duse, Kotulo Mandera, Kotulo Wajir, Qarsa Diff, Fafi, Welmerer , Raya, solar plant, and Garissa.
