IG NPS VISITS MBATARU RDU CAMP
Today, 10th April 2025, the Inspector General of the National Police Service (NPS), Mr. Douglas K. Kanja, visited Mbataru Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) Camp in Meru County.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the ongoing security operations in Meru, Isiolo, and Samburu Counties.
IG Kanja commended the commitment and selflessness of the officers in ensuring the safety and security of all persons in Kenya.
He further stated that efforts are underway to investigate the recent incident in which three National Police Reservists (NPR) officers tragically lost their lives.
The Inspector General was unequivocal that those involved in the heinous act will be apprehended and the stolen arms recovered.
Furthermore, the IG emphasised that the NPS will leverage technology to enhance the maintenance of law and order, reinforcing its commitment to transforming police stations into centres of excellence in service delivery.
Accompanying the IG were the Deputy Inspector General (DIG-KPS), Mr. Eliud Lagat, Eastern Regional Police Commander, Mr. Charles Naibei, AIG, Police Spokesperson, Mr. Muchiri Nyaga, AIG, and DCC Igembe North, Mr. Hassan Bule, who represented the Meru County Commissioner.
