IG KANJA IN A MEETING WITH EACC AND UNODC AT POLICE HEADQUARTERS
Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja is currently held up in a consultative meeting with Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to discuss partnerships in addressing corruption within the National Police Service. The IG who is flanked by his deputies, Mr. Eliud Lagat (KPS) and Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, APS) and DCI Mr. Mohamed I. Amin has tabled his agenda to make police stations centres of excellence for police operations by ensuring that Officers operate within the framework of the law, enhance training, address mental health and corruption within NPS.
In a speech read on behalf of the EACC Executive Director, by EACC Director of Ethics and Leadership-Mr. John Lolkoloi, EACC has committed to taking a systems examination/review of policies, procedures, and practices within NPS to identify corruption loopholes that can facilitate corruption and make recommendations to NPS. UNODC Representative Joy Matara stated that UNODC will continue to support NPS under the PLEAD II Program to review NPS systems and digitization in the Police.
