IG KANJA JOINS PRESIDENT WILLIAM RUTO IN INSPECTION OF HOUSING PROJECT AT KILIMANI POLICE STATION

His Excellency Dr. William Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, conducted an inspection tour this morning of the ongoing police housing project at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi. The project, comprising 540 housing units, is a significant step in the government’s plan to construct 27,000 housing units for police officers nationwide, aimed at improving their working and living conditions. By providing decent housing in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and the 2023-2027 NPS Strategic Plan, the project ensures that officers are well-supported as they fulfil their critical mandate to protect life and property, safeguarding the peace and security of the country.

While addressing members of the public, President Ruto called for peace, underscoring its vital role as an enabler for national development and stability. By promoting peace, we pave the way for sustainable growth, investment, and prosperity across all sectors in the country. Accompanying the President were Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development Hon. Alice Wahome; Principal Secretary, State Department for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo; Principal Secretary, State Department for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Charles Hinga; Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja; Deputy Inspector General (Administration Police Service), Mr. Gilbert Masengeli; Director, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed I. Amin; Acting Deputy Inspector General (Kenya Police Service), Mr. Patrick Tito, SAIG; Regional Police Commander, Nairobi, Mr. George Seda, AIG; and other senior government officials and officers.
