IG KANJA AND INTERIOR CS MURKOMEN LEAD JUKWAA LA USALAMA DIALOGUE IN KAJIADO

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, on Friday, 1st August 2025, joined the Cabinet Secretary for the Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, for a Jukwaa la Usalama county forum held at Olkejuado High School in Kajiado County. In a series of meetings, Jukwaa la Usalama has evolved into a critical platform for the Ministry of the Interior, the National Police Service, local administration officials, and the public to engage in open and accountable dialogue on key issues—particularly those related to security, community cohesion, and localized challenges.

During the forum, CS Murkomen provided a platform for various stakeholders—including administration officers, religious and youth leaders, bodaboda operators, the council of elders, women representatives, and local political leaders—to raise concerns affecting their communities. In his remarks, IG Kanja commended police officers in the region for their unwavering dedication to duty. He highlighted the welfare of long-serving officers who have yet to be promoted and underscored the urgent need to upgrade several police stations within the county.The IG further urged the public to support the ongoing multi-agency approach in combating insecurity and criminal activities. He concluded by addressing the rising concern over sexual violence in the area, issuing a seven-day ultimatum for the arrest of reported serial rapists and vowing firm action against perpetrators. 

The event was attended by several officials, including the Deputy Governor of Kajiado, Hon. Martin Moshisho Martine; members of both the National and County Assemblies; Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service (DIG-APS), Mr. Gilbert Masengeli; General Service Unit (GSU) Commandant, Mr. Ranson Lolmodooni, SAIG;Director of Operations, APS, Mr. Jackson Kangani, SAIG; and the Rift Valley Regional Police Commander, Mr. Jasper Ombati, AIG. Also present were National Administration Principal Administrative Secretary, Beverly Opwora; Secretary of National Registration, Dr. Christopher Wanjau; NACADA CEO, Dr. Anthony Omerikwa; Kajiado County Commissioner, Taari Rwaria; and other senior officials.
