IG KANJA AND HIS DEPUTIES MAKE A SURPRISE VISIT TO THE RAPID DEPLOYMENT UNIT HEADQUARTERS
Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja has expressed his satisfaction with, and pride in, the all-female SWAT team, for the good job that they have done in control crime, especially muggings, with the Nairobi Central Business District. The Police Chief made the remarks while addressing Officers this evening November 27, 2024, after making an impromptu visit to Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) Headquarters in Embakasi, which is also the home to the SWAT Team, accompanied by DIG-KPS Eliud Lagat and DIG-APS Gilbert Masengeli. Recently, IG Kanja made a similar visit to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit, within the Administration Police Service.
The IG commended the entire RDU team for demonstrating dedication to duty and directed them to remain even more vigilant during this festive season to keep the country safe and secure. He toured various sections of RDU including the RDU Water Treatment Plant, a welfare initiative for the production of bottled water used by the RDU Officers. Also present in today's visit was the NPS Spokesperson Dr. Resila Onyango AIG and Chief Transport Officer APS Mr. Edward Achola, CP and Commandant RDU- Mr. A M Shamala, CP.
