HISTORY MADE! KENYA POLICE FC LIFTS THE 2024/2025 FKF LEAGUE TROPHY!

Kenya Police FC today stamped their authority at the top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League after a decisive 1-0 victory over Shabana FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, officially clinching the 2024/2025 league title. The high-stakes encounter, played on Sunday, 15 June 2025, in the penultimate round of the season, saw Kenya Police FC enter the pitch knowing that a single point would be enough to secure their first-ever Premier League crown. However, they went beyond merely holding their ground—they claimed all three points in style. The first half was tightly contested, ending goalless as both sides displayed tactical discipline and solid defending. The turning point came in the 77th minute, just moments after a strategic triple substitution by Police FC in the 75th minute. Defender Brian Okoth, wearing the number 5 jersey, soared above the Shabana FC defence to power in a precise header from a corner kick. The goal sent the packed stadium into jubilant celebrations, as fans sensed it was the defining moment of the season. 

Earlier in the second half, drama unfolded when the Police FC goalkeeper was booked in the 53rd minute for handling the ball outside the penalty area. Shabana FC also received a yellow card in the 60th minute, amid rising tension and fierce competition. Despite a missed chance in the 59th minute, Kenya Police FC maintained relentless pressure, which eventually paid off. The match concluded at 16:55 hours to thunderous celebrations from Kenya Police FC players, technical staff, and supporters. With this victory, the team has now mathematically secured the championship title, regardless of the outcome of their final league fixture against Gor Mahia FC, scheduled for Sunday, 22 June 2025. In his remarks, Kenya Police FC Executive Chairman and Commandant of the National Police College, Main Campus -Kiganjo, Mr. Nyale Munga, SAIG, described the win as “a sweet and overwhelming moment”—not just for him, but for the entire National Police Service and Kenya Police FC fraternity. 

This triumph marks a significant milestone in Kenya Police FC’s history and reinforces the club’s growing dominance in Kenyan football. In attendance were the Principal Deputy to the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police, Mr. Patrick Tito, SAIG, Commandant of the National Criminal Investigations Academy (NCIA), Mr. Sospeter Munyi, SAIG and the PA to the Inspector General, Mr. James Murithi, SSP.
