DEPUTY IG ELIUD LAGAT PRESIDES OVER NATIONAL POLICE RESERVE PASS OUT IN LAISAMIS, MARSABIT COUNTY

Deputy IG Kenya Police- Mr. Eliud Lagat today January 8, 2025, presided over the Passing-Out ceremony of the National Police Reservists (NPRs) in Laisamis, Marsabit County, where 400 NPRs, drawn from the local communities completed the four weeks of intensive training. The training focused on general police duties, weapon handling, safety, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding. NPRs assist NPS in accordance with Chapter 54 of the Service Standing Orders. Leaders present during the ceremony included Hon. Joseph Lekuton (MP for Laisamis), Hon. Rasso Dido, Col (rtd) (MP for Saku), KPS Director NPR Mr. Kenneth Kimani, AIG, Deputy Regional Police Commander Eastern Mr. John Nyoike, CP, Marsabit County Police Commander Mr. Kimaiyo, CP and Marsabit County Commissioner Mr. James Kamau. The DIG who was on-board 5Y-SFA police helicopter, piloted by Captain Evans Okoth, ASP also toured Laisamis Police Station and Isiolo and held discussions with county security officers.
