CS INTERIOR HON. MURKOMEN FLAGS OFF NPS OFFICERS TO THE MSS MISSION IN HAITI

On January 18, 2025 night at JKIA Nairobi, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, officially flagged off the third contingent of NPS Officers to the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM), in Haiti. Addressing the Officers, CS Murkomen expressed his confidence that the Officers will continue with the excellent work that is ongoing by their colleagues on the ground, in bringing order and normalcy to Haiti. Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja equally assured that the additional 217 Officers will continue working closely with the Haitian National Police and other MSSM teams.
MSSM in Haiti was authorized by the UN Security Council on October 2, 2023, under Resolution 2699 to assist Haitian National Police in combating gang violence and restoring stability in Haiti and has so far registered multiple successes in pacifying various parts of the Caribbean Nation. The elite Officers drawn from NPS Formations and Units  will join the first two contingents that were deployed last year in the Kenyan-led Haiti MSS that currently has other Officers from Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bahamas, and Belize. Also present during the flag off event were the PS for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo; National Security Advisor Amb. Dr. Monica Juma; Consul-General to Haiti Mr. Noor Gabow; Deputy NSA/former IG Mr. Joseph Boinnet; DIG KPS Mr. Eliud Lagat, DIG APS Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, and other senior NPS Officers.
