CRACKDOWN ON NARCOTIC DRUGS IN VIHIGA

Earlier today, on 17 June 2025, a team of officers from the National Police Service (NPS) conducted a targeted operation against drug peddling in Majengo Trading Centre, Marikiti Village, Vihiga Sub-County, Vihiga County. During the operation, one suspect was arrested after being found in possession of about 3 kilograms of a substance suspected to be cannabis sativa, 72 rolls of the same substance,1 kilogram of tobacco, and several nylon sacks concealed in a plastic container on his premises. The suspect is currently in police custody, pending court arraignment. The National Police Service remains committed to its relentless fight against narcotic drugs and related crimes. We continue to work closely with communities and other stakeholders to dismantle drug networks and safeguard public well-being.
