COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MEETING HELD IN NAIKHARA, SABOTI

On Tuesday, 5th August 2025, the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) of Saboti Police Station, Chief Inspector Tom Ogeto, alongside the Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) Saboti, Mr. Tolba Anusu, the Member of County Assembly (MCA) Saboti, Hon. Bonface Cheloti, and the Acting Chief of Saboti, Mr. Edwin Kae, held a community baraza with residents of Naikhara, Trans Nzoia West. Key issues discussed during the meeting included the ongoing crackdown on illicit brews and dangerous drugs in Saboti, strategies to eradicate drug peddling and ensure the arrest and prosecution of criminal gang members. The meeting also addressed the rising cases of livestock theft and measures to combat them, elimination of disco matanga, identified as a breeding ground for criminal activity, and the importance of community cooperation in volunteering credible information to security agencies to enhance crime prevention efforts. The National Police Service (NPS) remains committed to strengthening partnerships with the public through regular community engagement forums.
