THE 6TH COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE FOR POLICE AND PRISON SERVICES' FALLEN HEROES HELD IN NAIROBI
The 6th joint Commemorative Service for National Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service Fallen Heroes was held today, December 6, 2024 at the National Police College – Embakasi 'A' Campus. The event was presided over by the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Acting Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Interior and National Administration Hon. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, who in his remarks, reiterated the Government's commitment to support the families of the Fallen Heroes which will be achieved through the proposed Veterans Bill. In his address, the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja stated that the commemoration acts as a reminder of the courage and selflessness of the Fallen Heroes, who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, by their death while in the line of duty. IG Kanja reaffirmed that Police will continue to support the families of the Fallen Heroes, noting in 2022, NPS recruited six widows and three orphans. Also present were the PS Internal Security, Dr. Raymond Omollo, and Commissioner General for Prisons, Mr. Patrick Aranduh, and other dignitaries.
