CS INTERIOR FAMILIARIZATION TOUR OF THE DCI HEADQUARTERS

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, today, February 27, 2025, conducted a familiarization tour of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Headquarters, including the National Police Service Forensic Laboratory.

Launched in 2022, the state-of-the-art Forensic Laboratory comprises ten specialized laboratories and continues to play a crucial role in expediting investigations into serious crimes such as terrorism, murder, cybercrime, and sexual offenses, among others.

In his remarks, CS Murkomen reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting and modernizing the National Police Service (NPS). He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to combat the increasingly sophisticated nature of modern crimes.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, expressed gratitude to the CS for the Ministry’s continued support. He commended officers for their dedication and urged them to work collaboratively across different formations and units, in line with the vision of transforming all police stations into centers of excellence in policing.

Also present during the visit were the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service (DIG KPS), Mr. Eliud Lagat; DCI Director, Mr. Mohamed Amin; Principal Deputy to the DIG of the Administration Police Service (APS), Dr. Masoud Mwinyi (SAIG); Deputy DCI, Mr. John Onyango (SAIG); Director of the NPS Forensic Laboratory, Madam Rosemary Kuraru (SAIG); and other senior officers.
