Functions of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
Under the direction, command and control of the Inspector General, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations:
• Collects and provides criminal intelligence
• Undertakes investigations on serious crimes including homicides, narcotics, money laundering and economic crimes
• Maintains law and order
• Detects and prevents crime
• Apprehends offenders
• Maintain criminal records
• Coordinates country Interpol Affairs
• Carries out investigation of matters that may be referred to it by the Independent Police Oversight Authority
