Training of Police Officers on Strategic Leadership and Command Course is geared towards enabling Police officers to be effective, efficient and responsive in service delivery.

The Inspector General of Police Mr. Hilary Mutyambai said this over the weekend while presiding over the 6th graduation ceremony of Strategic and Leadership Command Program at the National Police Service, Senior Police College- Loresho,Nairobi.

Mr. Mutyambai said, due to the global revolution in social, economic and technological spheres, an effective, efficient and professional service was paramount.

He said, the NPS Strategic leadership and Command  program develops the strategic  command and operational leadership skills of Police officers with a view to making the service customer friendly and responsive to the needs of the members of the public.

The NPS, he said, has embraced technology after the introduction of Digital Occurrence Book and use of e-Citizen Services at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to process Police Clearance Certificates for enhanced service delivery.

The IG said, the NPS was committed towards training officers at all levels to enable them provide strategic leadership direction at their respective areas of operations.

He thanked Kenyatta University for partnering with the NPS in the Diploma and Masters training program that saw the graduation a total of 26 police officers drawn from the Administration Police and Kenya Police Services together with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
