The Police Transformation agenda is unstoppable. “Kenya is changing and we as police officers must change the way we do the policing work,” he said adding that all police officers must embrace the transformation process.
Mr. Boinnet told the senior officers that Police Transformation requires change of the mind-set and attitude among the police officers in the ever changing society adding that the Kenyan public was new more enlightened than ever before hence need to change approach in dealing with the public.
He said, People Centred Policing (PCP), should be embraced by all officers who he advised to remain civil while firmly dealing with policing matters.
The IG stressed the need for collaborative leadership both internally and externally in enhancing the transformation process.
The transformation he said, will address four pillars of organizational culture (the heart of transformation), human resource management, institutional linkages and infrastructure capacity gaps together with the monitoring and evaluation.
The director of Reforms Engineer Patrick Ochieng’ said the transformation process will be rolled down to the grassroots and promised to announce the sensitization program soon to reach all officers in the field.
