MUTYAMBAI EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN THE DCI (2019-05-02).

The Criminal Investigations Directorate will continue discharging its mandate with strict adherence to the rule of law.

Inspector General Hilary Mutyambai says he has confidence in the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and urged the Director Mr. George Kinoti to investigate and present suspected criminals for prosecution without fear of favour.

Mr Mutyambai was speaking  at Mazingira house during a familiarization visit to the  DCI offices where he met Criminal Investigation officers and advised to conduct their investigations without fear of favour. He said, “corruption and other criminal  cases must be investigated thoroughly  so that anybody found culpable is prosecuted

He condemned an incident in Tharaka where an OCS was murdered while he was discharging his duties adding that the culprits will face the full force of the law. “Nobody is allowed to take a life of any person”, he warned.

The IG said, all the services will work harmoniously in order to effectively and efficiently manage crime in the country. He appealed to members of the public to continue assisting the police to ensure the security and safety of the country.
