Police Hot Lines


The Inspector General, National Police Service Mr. Joseph Boinnet has reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate with the Independent Policing  Oversight Authority (IPOA) and the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to enhance professionalism in the Service.

Mr. Boinnet said, the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) of the National Police Service that receives complaints against the Police, from the Police themselves and members of the public, will closely work with both IPOA and NPSC among other entities to ensure that Policing activities are conducted in a professional manner and in strict adherence to the rule of law.

Speaking during the Internal Affairs Luncheon at a Nairobi hotel, Mr Boinnet said, the service will endeavour   to work harmoniously with IPOA and NPSC for the good of the Service and the country at large.

He hailed the US Embassy among other development partners for supporting the IAU and the entire National Police Service in the Police Reform agenda.

Last year, 2017, the IAU received a total of 855 complaints against the police from the Police themselves and members of the public.

Out of the cases received, 528 were resolved while 286 are still under investigations and will be concluded soon to ensure that complaints against the Police are minimized to enhance service delivery to the members of the public.

Speaking during the function,  the IAU Director Mr, Charlton Murithi said, the Unit also sensitized a total of 5,000 Police officers from the Coast, Nyanza, Eastern and Central Regions  with a view to enhance professionalism in Pollicising activities in the Country. The other remaining regions will be covered this year, 2018.
