 COMPLAINTS RESOLUTION TO BE ENHANCED

The Inspector General, National Police Service Mr. Joseph Boinnet has reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate with the Independent Policing  Oversight Authority (IPOA) and the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to enhance professionalism in the Service.

Police Officers have wide powers in law. BUT with the law these powers must be exercised in accordance with the law

  • Did you know of existence of Act No. 12 of 2012?
  • This Act talks of crimes of torture and cruel, Inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
  • It was assented on 13th April 2017 and commenced implementation on 20th April 2017.
  • It may be cited as prevention of torture Act 2016

CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR MESSAGE

It is Christmas time once again and soon thereafter we shall usher in the New Year 2018.  Both holidays are traditionally characterised by heavy traffic on all our highways with Kenyans visiting holiday destinations and their rural homes. There are also increased numbers attending church functions, visiting entertainment joints, shopping malls and holiday resorts.

JAMII THABITI DONATION

A non -governmental organisation known as Jamii Thabiti has donated 16 computers to the National Police Service.

Jamii Thabiti program funded by the UK Government through Coffey International donated the computers to benefit eight (8) County Field Training Centres in Kwale, Kilifi, Wajir, Mandera, Nakuru, Baringo, Bungoma and Kisumu.

 PRESS STATEMENT

The attention of the National Police Service has been drawn to press reports to the effect that some politicians are mobilizing crowds to march to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to receive Hon.Raila Odinga on Friday 17th November 2017, upon his return from an overseas trip.

We have also learnt that a rally has been planned for Thursday, 16th November 2017 to prepare for the reception.
