Police Hot Lines

Following the Inspector General’s order, three Police Officers suspected to be linked to the disappearance and the death of the International Justice Mission lawyer Willy Kinuthia as well as Joseph Muiruri and Josephat Mwenda, have been arrested and are in custody assisting in the investigations.

We reiterate that their behavior is not representative of what the National Police Service stands

On 23rd  June, 2016, Josphat  Mwendwa accompanied by his lawyer Willy Kinuthia left for Mavoko Law Courts driven by Joseph  Muiruri in his taxi registration number KBX 126C a Toyota Fielder Silver in color.

In the continued heightened countrywide security surveillance, on 28/6/2016, the Police in conjunction with other security agencies conducted an operation in Malindi to flush out suspected Al Shabaab operatives who were planning a terror attack in the Coastal Region.

 During the operation, members of the public tipped the Police of suspicious persons assembled in a house located at Breeze Point in Malindi.

The National Police Service notes with concern continued comments, inferences and quoting of misleading, inaccurate and distorted crime data purported to be contained in the Economic Survey, 2016 of the Kenya Bureau of Statistics.

The Bureau of Statistics Data was established to have been misinterpreted in respect to the National Police Service Crime Statistics data of 2015. In this regard, the Director General, KNBS protested the same and wrote to the concerned media house.

The Inspector General of Police Mr. Joseph Boinnet has reiterated the commitment of the National Police Service (NPS) to continue establishing internal, regional and international linkages and partnerships with a view to building collaborative networks to enhance security.

Mr. Boinnet said this today while addressing a delegation of 35 Uganda Police officers who paid him a courtesy  call in his office.
