PRESS STATEMENT ON THE DUSIT HOTEL ATTACK (2019-01-16).

Further to the earlier briefing by H.E. the President where he announced the end of the successful Police operation in response to yesterday’s terror attack at Dusit Hotel complex, and following further forensic work by the DCI, as of this evening, the final tally is as follows:

STATEMENT BY HIS EXCELLENCY THE PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA (2019-01-16).
My fellow citizens, Kenya was struck yesterday by a gang of criminals who hoped to terrorize our people by committing acts of murder and mayhem. I can now confirm that at as about one hour ago, the security operation at Dusit complex is over and all the terrorists eliminated.  As of this moment, we have confirmation that fourteen innocent lives were lost by the terrorists, with others injured. We are grieving as a country this morning; my heart, and that of every Kenyan, goes out to the innocent men and women violated by senseless violence. 

PRESS STATEMENT BY INSPECTOR GENERAL NPS. (2019-01-15).

NATIONAL POLICE SERVICE GOES DIGITAL(2019-01-07).

The National Police Service has for the first time in the history of policing in the country launched an Information Management System aimed at digitizing all Police records including the Occurrence Book, Personnel Management, Crime Management and Administrative Systems.

 In the next few months, the Police Service will be operating on a fully digitized platform thanks to the ongoing digitization of government services for efficient public service delivery.  The launch of the programe which was presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiang’i at the Kilifi County Police headquarters was also graced by his ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru, Inspector General Joseph Boinnet among other senior government officials and top Police Commanders.

CHANGES IN REGIONAL POLICE COMMANDS (2019-01-03).
The National Police Service has today made changes in Regional Police Commands in the country.
Announcing the changes today at Jogoo house, the Inspector General of Police Mr Joseph Boinnet appointed Former Small  Arms boss Mr. Marcus Ocholla  Coast Regional Commander while Madam Eunice Kihiko moves to Eastern Region as the Commander.
